Text Book of Human Anatomy, Physiology and Pathophysiology–II is designed to provide students with a clear and comprehensive understanding of the structure, functions, and common disorders of the major systems of the human body. The book systematically covers the nervous system, including neurons, nerve fibres, electrophysiology, synapses, neurotransmitters, brain, spinal cord, and reflex activity, along with the pathophysiology of epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, migraine, depression, schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s disease, and meningitis. The gastrointestinal system is discussed with emphasis on the anatomy and functions of the stomach, intestines, salivary glands, pancreas, and liver, together with digestion, absorption, gastric acid secretion, and gastrointestinal movements. Important disorders such as inflammatory bowel disease, peptic ulcer, jaundice, hepatitis, typhoid, and fatty liver disease are also described. The respiratory system section explains the anatomy of the lungs, mechanism and regulation of respiration, lung volumes and capacities, transport of respiratory gases, artificial respiration, and resuscitation methods, along with asthma, COPD, and tuberculosis. The urinary system covers the anatomy and functions of the kidney and nephron, urine formation, micturition, acid–base balance, and the Renin–Angiotensin–Aldosterone System, together with acute and chronic renal failure and urinary tract infections. The endocrine system introduces hormones, their mechanisms of action, and the structure and functions of major endocrine glands, with special emphasis on diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, goitre, and PCOS. The reproductive system includes male and female reproductive anatomy, sex hormones, menstruation, fertilization, spermatogenesis, oogenesis, pregnancy, and parturition, along with sexually transmitted diseases such as AIDS, syphilis, and gonorrhea. A separate section on cancer explains its etiology and pathogenesis. The book integrates normal anatomy and physiology with pathological changes occurring in disease conditions and presents the concepts in a simple, systematic, and student-friendly manner. It is particularly useful for pharmacy students for classroom learning, examination preparation, and developing a strong foundation in human anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and basic clinical sciences.

Taniya Rawat is an Assistant Professor and a Ph.D. Scholar with more than five years of teaching experience in pharmaceutical sciences. She specializes in Human Anatomy and Physiology as well as Pharmacology, with a strong commitment to quality education and student mentorship. Her research interests include medical education, neuropharmacology, and pharmaceutical sciences. She has authored several research articles published in reputed national and international journals. She is also the inventor of two published Indian patents, reflecting her focus on innovation and applied research. Through her academic and research contributions, she continues to promote excellence in pharmaceutical education and scientific advancement. Dr. Kuldip Kumar Savita is a Professor at Bhagwan Aadinath College of Pharmacy, Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. He is associated with pharmacy education and contributes to the academic development of students through teaching and guidance. His academic role reflects his commitment to strengthening pharmaceutical knowledge and professional learning. He has been actively involved in supporting students in understanding important concepts related to pharmacy and healthcare sciences. Through his academic experience, he continues to contribute to the advancement of pharmaceutical education. His association with Bhagwan Aadinath College of Pharmacy highlights his dedication to teaching, learning, and professional excellence in the field of pharmacy. Aeshwarya Joshi, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmacology) from Geetanjali University, Udaipur. I hold an M.Pharm (Pharmacology) and a B.Pharm. I have over 3 years of academic experience as an AssistantProfessor. I am currently working as an Assistant Professor at Career Point University, Kota, Rajasthan. My areas of expertise include Pharmacology, Clinical Research, and Pharmacovigilance, with hands-on experience in Oracle Argus Safety Database, MedDRA coding, and WHO Drug Dictionary. I have also published a research article and am interested in contributing as an author for this book. Dr. Priya completed her Pharm.D. in 2021 from ISF College of Pharmacy, Moga. She gained valuable clinical exposure during her internship as a Clinical Pharmacologist at Ivy Hospital, Mohali. She has around five years of academic experience as an Assistant Professor at CT University, Ludhiana. Her teaching experience has contributed to the academic and professional development of pharmacy students. Currently, she is working as an Assistant Professor at JIS Institute of Pharmacy, VPO Bhutta, Ludhiana. Her profile reflects a balanced combination of clinical knowledge, teaching experience, and commitment to pharmaceutical education. Dr. A. Vaishnavi is Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Faculty of Pharmacy, SBMCH Campus, BIHER, Chromepet, Chennai. She has 3 years of clinical experience and 3 years of teaching experience, with a strong interest in clinical pharmacy and patient-centered healthcare. She completed Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from Gurunanak Institutions School of Pharmacy, Ibrahimpatnam, JNTU Hyderabad, Telangana, her clinical experience has provided her with practical exposure to patient care, medication management, and the application of pharmaceutical knowledge in clinical settings.
