About Book

Text Book of Human Anatomy, Physiology and Pathophysiology–I has been meticulously designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the structure, functions, and disease processes of the human body for pharmacy and health science students. The book covers the fundamental concepts of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology in a simple, systematic, and student-friendly manner. Beginning with the organization of the human body at the cellular and tissue levels, it explains the principles of homeostasis, cell communication, and membrane transport mechanisms. Detailed discussions on cellular injury, adaptation, and cell death provide a strong foundation for understanding disease development. The text thoroughly explores the integumentary system, skeletal system, muscles, joints, and their associated disorders. Important pathological conditions such as psoriasis, dermatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, and gout are discussed with emphasis on their pathophysiological mechanisms. Comprehensive coverage of body fluids, blood, and the lymphatic system enables students to understand the maintenance of internal body balance and immune functions. The book also explains hematopoiesis, blood coagulation, blood grouping, and transfusion practices. Special attention has been given to inflammatory processes, tissue repair, and wound healing, which are essential concepts in clinical sciences. Major hematological disorders, including various forms of anemia, thalassemia, sickle cell disease, and hemophilia, are explained in a clear and concise manner. The peripheral nervous system, including sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions, is presented with functional and clinical relevance. Chapters on special senses provide detailed knowledge of the eye, ear, nose, and tongue, along with common disorders affecting these organs. The cardiovascular system is described comprehensively, covering cardiac anatomy, blood circulation, cardiac cycle, blood pressure regulation, and electrocardiography. Common cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, arrhythmias, heart failure, angina, myocardial infarction, and coronary artery disease are discussed with emphasis on their underlying pathophysiology. The content is presented in a logical sequence to facilitate easy learning and conceptual understanding. Numerous diagrams, illustrations, and clinical correlations enhance the educational value of the text. The book aligns with the latest Pharmacy Council of India curriculum and modern educational requirements. It serves as an excellent resource for undergraduate pharmacy students and other allied health science learners. By integrating normal physiology with pathological alterations, the book helps students understand the basis of disease and therapeutic interventions. The language has been kept simple without compromising scientific accuracy. This textbook aims to develop analytical thinking, clinical understanding, and professional competence among learners. It is expected to serve as a valuable guide for classroom learning, self-study, examinations, and future healthcare practice.
