About Book
Text Book of Molecular Pharmaceutics (Nano Technology & Targeted DDS) is a comprehensive and advanced academic resource designed to provide in-depth knowledge of modern drug delivery approaches with a strong focus on nanotechnology and targeted systems. The book systematically introduces the fundamental concepts and events involved in targeted drug delivery systems, highlighting the biological processes that govern drug targeting at the cellular and molecular levels. Special emphasis is given to tumor targeting and brain-specific drug delivery, addressing current challenges and therapeutic opportunities. It offers a detailed explanation of various targeting methods, including their preparation techniques and evaluation parameters, making complex concepts accessible to students and researchers. The text extensively covers nanoparticles, discussing their types, methods of preparation, and evaluation, along with an elaborate section on liposomes, niosomes, aquasomes, phytosomes, and electrosomes. Microcapsules and microspheres are explained with clarity, covering definitions, classifications, preparation methods, and evaluation techniques. The book also introduces monoclonal antibodies, detailing their preparation and wide-ranging applications in targeted therapy. Pulmonary and intranasal drug delivery systems are thoroughly discussed, including aerosols, propellants, containers, preparation methods, and evaluation strategies. A dedicated section on nucleic acid–based therapeutic delivery systems provides insights into gene therapy, ex-vivo and in-vivo approaches, and potential target diseases such as inherited disorders and cancer.
