About Book

This book, “Practical Companion in Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry for Pharm D (As per PCI Syllabus),” has been designed especially for Pharm D First Year students to provide a clear and comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts and experimental techniques in organic chemistry. Organic chemistry plays a vital role in pharmaceutical sciences, as it forms the basis for the design, synthesis, and understanding of drugs and their interactions within the body. The experiments included in this manual aim to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills, helping students develop confidence and competence in the laboratory. Each experiment is presented with clear objectives, required chemicals and apparatus, step-by-step procedures, and important observations. The manual emphasizes not only performing experiments correctly but also understanding the underlying chemical principles and maintaining proper laboratory safety and discipline. This book encourages students to think scientifically, observe carefully, and record results systematically. It serves as a helpful guide to mastering essential organic chemistry techniques, which form the foundation for future learning in medicinal chemistry and other advanced pharmaceutical subjects. We hope that this manual makes learning organic chemistry an enjoyable and meaningful experience for all students.
