Avadhoot V. Date is a geoscientist with a Ph.D. in Geosciences from the University of Calgary. An alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, he has worked in the petroleum industry and conducted research on understanding groundwater quality of major transboundary aquifer systems. His academic and professional journey has taken him from geological field sites across India to offshore drilling operations and groundwater research in Canada. Through his writing, he seeks to make geology accessible to a wider audience and to encourage students to approach career choices with curiosity, evidence, responsibility, and courage.
