About Author

Dr. T. Ramanathan is a distinguished Professor and Director of the Centre of Advanced Study in Marine Biology, Faculty of Marine Sciences, Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, India. He has over two decades of teaching experience and more than three decades of research experience. He holds M.Sc., M.Ed., M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees and is currently pursuing a second Ph.D. in Education. Dr. Ramanathan is a prolific scholar in Marine Biology and Biotechnology, with specialized expertise in mangrove biodiversity and conservation and ethnopharmacology for drug discovery. His academic contributions include 296 scientific publications, comprising 184 research articles in national and international journals (159 UGC-listed/indexed) and 24 books. His research impact is reflected by 3,093 citations, an h-index of 29, and an i10-index of 74. He also holds 11 patents and copyrights and has submitted 39 nucleotide sequences to the NCBI database. He has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator for 21 sponsored research projects with a total funding of approximately ₹2.87 crores and has completed five consultancy projects. As a research supervisor, he has guided 17 Ph.D. scholars, is currently supervising seven Ph.D. scholars, and has guided 24 M.Phil. students. Dr. Ramanathan’s expertise is recognized nationally and internationally through his membership in prestigious bodies such as the IUCN Commission, National Biodiversity Authority, and CPCSEA, Government of India, and through his role as a scrutinizing member for various Government of India funding agencies. He has received 19 awards, including multiple Best Researcher Awards from Annamalai University and international honors such as the Best Paper Presented Award in Turkey. He has visited 13 countries for academic engagements and has actively contributed to society through mangrove awareness programs and the establishment of herbal gardens. Dr. Pushpamala Ramaiah is a Professor of Health Sciences, Nursing, and Midwifery in the Faculty of Nursing at Umm Al Qura University, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and a registered midwife with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council. With more than a decade of academic and research experience, she has demonstrated a sustained commitment to the advancement of maternal and neonatal health through education, clinical practice, and research. She holds a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Midwifery, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Liverpool John Moores University, UK. Her academic background reflects a strong foundation in both professional practice and higher education pedagogy. Dr. Pushpamala Ramaiah’s scholarly interests focus on women’s health, evidence-based practice, and the application of biostatistics and research methodology in laboratory-based and healthcare research. She has supervised numerous postgraduate research projects and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. She is particularly dedicated to strengthening research capacity among healthcare professionals by promoting the effective use of biostatistical principles to enhance the rigor, validity, and reliability of scientific research in midwifery and healthcare sciences. Mrs. Gayatri Sandip Jagtap is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Shree Santkrupa College of Pharmacy, Ghogaon. She has 15 years of academic experience in teaching and research. She completed her Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) from Poona College of Pharmacy, Pune. Her scholarly contributions include one patent and several research publications in reputed journals. Her research interests focus on the synthesis and analysis of novel heterocyclic compounds. She is a life member of the Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India (APTI). Dr. Jajili Eluru (Ph.D. Submitted) is an Assistant Professor at Sir C.R. Reddy College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Eluru. She holds an M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry (2010) and has over a decade of professional experience encompassing both the pharmaceutical industry and academia. She began her career in the pharmaceutical industry as a Junior Manager in the Development Quality Assurance Department at the Integrated Product Development Organisation, Research & Development Cell, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Bachupally, Hyderabad. She subsequently served as a Group Leader at Suven Life Sciences, Pashamylaram. Transitioning to academia, she worked as an Assistant Professor at Vijaya Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences for Women, Enikepadu, before joining her current position at Sir C.R. Reddy College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Eluru. Dr. Eluru registered for her Ph.D. at GITAM University, Visakhapatnam, in 2020 and submitted her doctoral thesis in February 2025. Her research output includes 10 original research articles published in UGC-approved, Scopus-indexed, and Web of Science journals. In addition, she has 4 patent publications to her credit and has authored 7 book chapters published by reputed platforms such as Academic Decipher and the Swalife Foundation. Dr. Hangargekar Sachin Raosaheb received his Ph.D. degree in 2022 from LNCT University, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics at Shivlingeshwar College of Pharmacy, Almala, Taluka Ausa, District Latur. He has a total of 15 years of teaching experience in the field of pharmacy education. Dr. Hangargekar has published more than 15 research papers in reputed journals and holds two Indian patents. He is a life member of the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI) and several other scientific associations.
