About Book

This book is designed as a comprehensive introductory guide to Python programming tailored specifically for students of pharmaceutical sciences. It bridges the gap between computational skills and pharmaceutical applications, enabling learners to harness programming for data-driven decision-making in healthcare and research. The book begins with the fundamentals of Python, guiding readers through installation, development environments such as Jupyter Notebook and PyCharm, and core programming concepts including variables, data types, operators, and input–output operations. It builds a strong foundation in logical thinking through control structures and functions, with practical examples like dosage and BMI calculations relevant to pharmacy practice. Moving forward, the text introduces essential data structures such as lists, tuples, and dictionaries, along with file handling techniques for managing healthcare datasets. It further explores powerful libraries like NumPy and Pandas, equipping students with the skills to organize, clean, and analyze pharmaceutical data, including pharmacokinetic datasets and adverse drug reaction reports. The final sections focus on data visualization using Matplotlib, enabling readers to create and interpret graphical representations such as concentration–time curves, dissolution profiles, and drug safety trends. Emphasis is placed on scientific interpretation, ensuring that students not only generate plots but also derive meaningful conclusions from them. With a practical, application-oriented approach, this book empowers pharmacy students to develop programming proficiency, analyze real-world datasets, and contribute effectively to modern pharmaceutical research and healthcare analytics.
