About Book

Pharmacy Practice (Theory) for the BP703T course is a comprehensive textbook designed to equip pharmacy students with a clear understanding of the evolving roles and responsibilities of pharmacists in modern healthcare. The book integrates theoretical foundations with practical applications, highlighting pharmacy practice beyond dispensing to include patient care, public health, clinical decision-making, and interprofessional collaboration. It systematically covers community and hospital pharmacy, prescription handling, patient counseling, medication history, documentation, and communication skills. Strong emphasis is placed on clinical pharmacy concepts such as adverse drug reactions, medication errors, pharmacovigilance, and drug–drug interactions to promote patient safety and critical thinking. The text also introduces emerging areas including evidence-based medicine, pharmacoeconomics, chronic disease management, and patient-centered care, along with national health programs and professional ethics.
