About Book
This course provides a foundational understanding of the structure and function of the human body, progressing from the cellular level to complex organ systems. It integrates anatomy (structure), physiology (function), and pathophysiology (disease mechanisms) to help students understand how the body maintains homeostasis and how alterations lead to disease.
The course begins with cell biology and tissue organization, including cell communication and injury mechanisms. It then covers major systems such as the integumentary system, skeletal system, blood and lymphatic system, peripheral nervous system, special senses, and cardiovascular system.
Special emphasis is placed on:
• Mechanisms of cell injury and adaptation
• Inflammation and repair
• Common diseases like anemia, rheumatoid arthritis, hypertension, and sensory disorders
This subject builds a strong base for pharmaceutical sciences, enabling students to relate drug action with physiological and pathological conditions.
About Author
Dr. Amit Kumar Tripathi is an accomplished academician and researcher currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at Rajiv Gandhi College of Pharmacy, Nautanwa, Maharajganj (U.P.), India. He has over five years of experience in academics, with strong involvement in teaching, research, and scholarly activities.He was awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in 2025 from Glocal University, Saharanpur. During his academic journey, Dr. Tripathi has demonstrated excellence in research and academics, earning the Best Research Scholar Award and being a Gold Medalist in M. Pharm (2020). Dr. Tripathi has published multiple research articles in reputed national and international scientific journals. His research focuses on herbal pharmacology, nanocarriers, and formulation optimization; holds Indian and UK patents, authored a microbiology textbook, and actively mentors students in pharmacy education.
Mrs. Akanksha Chaurasiya is a committed academic professional currently working at Rajiv Gandhi College of Pharmacy, Nautanwa, Maharajganj (U.P.), India. She has three years of experience in academics and is actively involved in teaching and supporting academic activities within the institution.With a strong foundation in pharmaceutical education, Mrs. Chaurasiya contributes to undergraduate instruction, student mentoring, and practical training. She is known for her sincere approach to teaching, discipline, and dedication to academic excellence.She actively participates in academic programs, seminars, workshops, and institutional activities, and continuously works toward enhancing her professional knowledge and teaching skills. Her focus remains on delivering quality education and supporting the overall growth of pharmacy students. Mrs. Chaurasiya is regarded as a cooperative and responsible faculty member, contributing positively to the academic environment and institutional development of Rajiv Gandhi College of Pharmacy.
Dr. Anuradha Singh, Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmacology), is currently serving as an Associate Professor at SBS College of Pharmacy, Malwan, Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. She is an active member of the Indian Pharmacological Society and the IPGA Women Forum (UP Chapter), where she actively contributes to academic development, professional networking, and women empowerment initiatives in pharmaceutical sciences.
Dr. Singh has made significant academic and research contributions in the fields of pharmacology, neuroscience, and drug repurposing strategies. Her research primarily focuses on neurodegenerative disorders, exploring innovative therapeutic approaches including natural bioactive compounds and repurposed drugs for improved clinical outcomes. She has published several research papers, review articles, and book chapters in reputed Scopus index journals.
In addition to her scholarly publications, Dr. Singh holds patents in her area of expertise, reflecting her commitment to translational research and innovation in drug discovery and development. Her academic interests include neuropharmacology, experimental pharmacology, molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration, and combination therapeutic strategies.
Jaydip Ray holds B.Sc., B.Pharm., and M.Pharm. degrees and has over 33 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical sector, including 8 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing and 25 years in pharmacy education. He currently serves as a Senior Faculty Member and Associate Professor, actively contributing to teaching, research, and academic development. His areas of expertise include Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmaceutics, Hospital Pharmacy, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality systems, regulatory compliance, pharmaceutical documentation, and production management. Throughout his career, he has successfully integrated industrial experience with academic excellence, enabling students to gain practical insights into pharmaceutical operations. He has also contributed significantly to quality enhancement initiatives, supporting ISO certification, NBA and NAAC accreditation, NIRF rankings, and QCI certification. He remains passionate about academic writing, research dissemination, student mentorship, and advancing pharmaceutical education.
Neha Verma is an Assistant Professor at Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology, Pharmacy with a strong academic background in pharmaceutical sciences. She completed her Master’s degree in Pharmacology and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. Her research interests include artificial intelligence in healthcare, neuropharmacology, inflammatory disorders, and natural product-based therapeutics. She is actively involved in teaching, student mentoring, and scientific writing. Passionate about research and innovation, she aims to integrate modern scientific approaches with pharmaceutical education and healthcare advancements, contributing to evidence-based therapeutic development and translational research in the field of pharmacology.
