The title of the book is " PHARMACOGNOSY -I". The writers' original intent for the book was to present a compiled database for PHARMACOGNOSY-I that was simple to understand. This book's purpose is to enlighten readers on cutting-edge drug delivery methods and to steer instructors and students toward key ideas in Pharmacognosy-I. The main goal of writing this textbook was to give material in a clear, concise manner to fulfill undergraduate students' needs in accordance with PCI guideline. This book was created to educate post-graduate students on pharmaceutical jurisprudence as well as adhere to the PCI curriculum for pharmacy undergraduate courses. We guarantee that graduates, postgraduates, lecturers, and industry learners will find this book to be of great use. However, any recommendations for the text's future enhancement are welcome and will be carefully considered.
About Author
Dr. Puneet Sudan is currently working as Associate Professor in University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences-Rayat Bahra University Mohali (Punjab). He has 15 years of experience in teaching D.Pharmacy, B. Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy and Pharm D students in many reputed colleges. He has done Masters in Pharmacognosy and completed Ph.D in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Chandigarh University-Mohali. His area of research is mainly evaluation of antifungal activity of novel phytoconstituents. He has published around 30 Research and Review articles in reputed journals (Scopus) along with 5 book chapters. He has been engaged with planning educational research programs in pharmacy field.
Dr. T. K. Gopal, Dean/Principal, College of pharmacy, Sri Venkateswara University Redhills Chennai. Dr.T.K.Gopal, M.Pharm, Ph.D, is a Academicand Research in the field of Pharmacognosy and Phyto chemistry. He received a Ph.D (2016) in Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai, and Master of Pharmacy (Pharmacognosy) in 1998 at JSS College of Pharmacy, ooty, Tamilnadu, with over 33 years of Teaching experience and Research area, He has contributed significantly to Pharmacy Education Service as an Associate Professor, Professor and Principal at various Estimated Institution. He has actively participated and organized National and International conference and published 120 research Articles to National and International Journals. His expertise in Phyto chemical analysis, Herbal cosmetics, Pharmacognostical studies of some indigenous plants, Phyto pharmacological Evaluation of anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, anti-oxidant, analgesic, anticancer, Hepatoprotective, antidiabetic, antiarthritic, anti-diarrheal, diuretic, anti microbial activities by invitro and invivo studies. Evaluation of constituent with Keen interest in HPTLC, LCMS, GC and Pharmacognostical studies. He also received design patents and utility patents for his research in pharmacognostical related areas. Currently servicing Principal at Sri Venkateswaraa University, College of Pharmacy, Chennai, He is motivate and inspiration of students and contribution to academic Excellent. His dedication to learning Research and Teaching methodology makes and valuable asset to Pharmacy. He is conducted FDP programs and Hands on Training for students and Faculties and scientific Achievement reflected his commitment to professional growth of U.G, P.G and Ph.D guided 75 students and make MoU with National, International Industries and Universities. Received the International Ethnopharmacology best Teacher award and life membership of Society for Ethnopharmacology life member of Pharmacognosy, APTI, Treasurer of IPGA-TN, PCI Inspector and various position of Pharmacy Academic and Industries area. Recevied the funded project in Ramachandra University and in the year 2017, presented and chaired a session in International Congress on Ethnopharmacology held at Dhaka, on 13th -16th February.
Mrs. Ashwini Santosh Dhole working as assistant professor teaching pharmacognosy from 3 years in delonix society's Baramati college of pharmacy Barhanpur Baramati and she had completed D.Pharm, B.Pharm and M.Pharm From Savitribai Phule Pune University Pune and pursuing ph.D in pharmaceutical sciences from Madhyanchal professional university Bhopal.she has published review articles and research articles in reputed journals also attended international conferences and FDPs during tenure of teaching. Her area of research is analytical Method development and Extraction and Isolation of phytochemicals from herbal drugs.
Mrs. Malati R. Salunke is an Assistant Professor having experience of 7 years in industry and 6 years in teaching. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacognosy at Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Poona College of Pharmacy, Pune, Maharashtra. She has completed her M. Pharm and M.B.A. from Pune university. She has more than 13 years experience of teaching and research experience in the field of pharmacognosy, Cosmetic formulation Development, handling of Production Unit and Regulatory documentation. She was very expertise in different formulation Development.
Mrs. Vrushali Pawar is a committed research scholar at Poona College of Pharmacy, Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune, with a robust academic background in Pharmacognosy. She holds both B.Pharm and M.Pharm degrees from Bharati Vidyapeeth University and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the same field. As an Assistant Professor at Sinhgad College of Pharmacy, she has made significant contributions to academic committees and student development initiatives. Her research focus is particularly centered on wound healing, where she explores innovative therapeutic approaches using natural products to enhance healing processes. Additionally, she has a keen interest in the extraction and isolation of phytoconstituents, which complements her work in natural product research.
