About Book

This book is a complete engineering reference covering the full scope of Building Automation System (BAS) design, integration, and practice, 13 chapters spanning HVAC fundamentals, system architecture, communication protocols, sensors and instrumentation, actuators, energy management, lighting and electrical systems, security and fire system integration, cybersecurity, the system design process, installation and commissioning, and emerging technologies including AI, digital twins, and IoT. Each chapter combines theoretical grounding with practical, field-tested guidance: worked equations and design tables, equipment selection criteria, wiring and installation best practices, sample sequences of operation, and commissioning checklists. Appendices provide reusable templates, a points list template, a complete sample VAV AHU sequence of operations, and a reference of applicable North American and Indian standards and codes making the book as useful on the job site as it is in the classroom.
