About Book
The science of pharmaceutics provides the essential foundation for every branch of pharmacy practice. A Textbook of Pharmaceutics-I is designed to guide first-year pharmacy students through the core principles and operations that transform pure drug substances into safe, effective, and patient-acceptable medicines.
The book begins with a historical background and the development of the pharmacy profession, tracing the growth of pharmaceutical knowledge from ancient traditions to present-day practice. It then introduces the variety of dosage forms and the fundamental concepts of prescription writing and interpretation and posology, ensuring that students understand the rationale behind drug administration and dosing.
About Author
Dr. A. Bharath Kumar is a Professor at the Dept.of Pharmaceutics, Mahathi College of Pharmacy, CTM Cross Roads, Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh, India. He is having experience, 19 years teaching experience in B. Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy and Pharm.D. He has a qualified M.Pharmacy in Industrial Pharmacy branch from Annamalai University, Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu and a B. Pharmacy from Padmavathi College of Pharmacy, Dharmapuri. Affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R.Medical University, Chennai. and PhD from Department of Pharmacy, Bhagwant University, Ajmer, Rajasthan. He has guided 35 M. Pharmacy Projects and B. Pharmacy students at the research level. He has over 30 publications and 04 design patents. he has presented more than 70 Oral and Poster presentation in various Conferences and Symposium. Apart from academic activities due to he keen interested in social services, he has been deeply engaged with activities like National Service Scheme and Campus Placement Cell.
Ms. Priyanka Abaso Thorat is presently working as an Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutics department at Shree Santkrupa College of Pharmacy Ghogaon. She holds good academic experience of 6 years. She has completed M. Pharm from Shree Santkrupa College of Pharmacy Ghogaon. Her scholarly work includes research papers in various journals. Her areas of research include novel drug delivery system. She is life member of Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India (APTI).
Mr. M. R. Dhanesh Kumar has completed B. Pharmacy and M. Pharmacy at Madras Medical College, Chennai, affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, M.B.A at Alagappa University, karaikudi, Tamil Nadu and M.S. Pharmaceutical Technology in Vinayaga Missions University, Salem, Tamil Nadu. He is pursuing his Ph.D in Bharath Institute of higher Education and Research, (BIHER) selaiyur, Tambaram, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He has over 15 years of Industrial experience in Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance departments and as an academician he has many years of teaching and research experience. He has guided many post graduate and under graduate students in his areas of expertise including Formulation development, Stability Testing and Computer-Aided Drug Design research. He has delivered few invited talks and many webinars as a resource person. He has published more than 10 research papers and review articles to his credit. He has been working as an Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics at G.R.D College of Pharmacy, Thiruvallur Affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. He is a well known Professional in the field of Pharmaceutics who is Dynamic, Hard-working, Enthusiastic and Responsible with a focus on Pharmaceutics subject. He has demonstrated leadership skills in managing various research projects, functioning as a team leader and being highly adaptable to many Contract Research Organisations. He is an active life member in The Indian Pharmaceutical Association & Association of Pharmaceutical teachers of India.

Dr. Jayshri. S. Wankhede M. Pharm., Ph D.Dr. Jayshri S. Wankhede currentll working as Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutics in Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research., Borgaon (Meghe) Wardha. She has completed graduation, post-graduation in Pharmaceutics from Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research., Borgaon (Meghe) Wardha. She completed Ph. D. from R. T. M. N. Nagpur University, Nagpur in 2022. She has total 17 years of experience for UG and 10 years of experience for PG. She has guided about 20 M. Pharm students and has one patent to her credit and she published many papers in national and international journals. She is life time member of Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India.
Dr. C. Balalakshmi is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Nanoscience and Technology, Alagappa University, Tamilnadu (India). she has 8 years of enriched teaching experience for postgraduate levels. Her field of Research is Nano Marine Biology, Bio Nano Materials, Nano Green Biology, Nano Medical Bio Technology, Nano Anti Coating Food Packaging Application. she has completed several “RUSA 2.0 Theme Based Research Project Grant Allocation” research funded projects. She has more than 20 publications to his credit in peer reviewed indexed journals. she has been recognized ‘Guide’ for M.Phil and Ph.D Students. she is also a Editor Board Member of Innovative Scientific research Professional, Malaysia and Editor Member of Global Management Council- Glacier Journal Research Foundation, Ahmedabad, Gujarat and Life Member of Indian Science Congress Association at Kolkata and Membership in Asia’s Who’s Who, Asian Biographies, Rifacimento International, AURF seed money 2024,( grand sanctioned vide letter No AU/SO(P&D)/AURF seed money /2024 Alagappa University, Karaikudi, Tamilnadu, India, Date 11 December 2024) has been of great support and help to me in writing this book.
