About Book

The book Pharmacology-II (BP503T) serves as a comprehensive academic resource designed for undergraduate pharmacy students, specifically targeting the BP503T syllabus prescribed by pharmacy education councils. This textbook provides an in-depth exploration of drugs acting on the cardiovascular and renal systems, as well as the pharmacological basis of antiarrhythmic, anti-anginal, antihypertensive, and antihyperlipidemic therapies. It begins with a foundational understanding of hemodynamics and cardiac electrophysiology—critical to grasping how cardiovascular drugs exert their therapeutic effects. The content meticulously covers the pathophysiology and drug management of conditions like congestive heart failure, hypertension, angina, arrhythmias, atherosclerosis, and shock. It explains drug mechanisms, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic uses, and adverse effects with clarity and detail, using structured classifications and clinically relevant insights. Notably, the inclusion of updated pharmacological classifications, clinical considerations, and therapeutic rationale makes the book practical for both academic learning and early clinical application. Each unit is systematically divided into logically sequenced subtopics, supplemented with tables, figures, and simplified mechanisms of action for quick understanding. Overall, the book acts as a bridge between pharmacological theory and clinical practice, enabling students to build a robust conceptual and therapeutic foundation essential for modern pharmacy practice.
