About Book
A Textbook of Pharmacology” has been written and designed according to the latest syllabus prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) for the B. Pharm course. The primary aim of this textbook is to provide a clear, concise, and systematic understanding of pharmacology, emphasizing both theoretical and applied aspects. It bridges the gap between basic biomedical sciences (such as physiology and biochemistry) and clinical pharmacy practice by explaining how drugs act on living systems to prevent, diagnose, or treat diseases.

About Author
Dr. Fowad Khurshid is currently serving as a Professor and Principal in the Department of Pharmacy at the Institute of Biomedical Education and Research (IBMER), Mangalayatan University, Aligarh, India. Formerly, he worked as a faculty member at King Saud University College of Pharmacy, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (January 2010 – October 2022). Dr. Fowad brings over 18 years of experience in pharmacy education, research, and administration. His academic journey began at the prestigious Jamia Hamdard (Hamdard University), New Delhi, where he earned his B. Pharm (2004) and M. Pharm in Pharmacy Practice (2007). Furthermore, he completed his Ph.D. in 2018, and his doctoral research focused on Herb-Drug Interactions. Dr. Fowad has published several research papers in high-impact, peer-reviewed international journals and presented his findings at numerous national and international conferences. His research expertise spans social and administrative pharmacy, hospital pharmacy practice, pharmacovigilance, and patient-reported outcomes, contributing to advancements in pharmacy education and practice.
Mr. Rahimullah Siddiqui is a dedicated academician in the field of Pharmacology with extensive teaching and research experience since 2008. He has been serving at the College of Pharmacy, Jazan University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, since April 2011. Mr. Rahimullah earns his Bachelor of Pharmacy from Jamia Hamdard (2004) and Master in Pharmacy in Pharmacology from The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai (2008). With a strong passion for advancing pharmaceutical education and research, he has published more than 30 peer-reviewed research papers in reputed journals. His academic interests include pharmacodynamics, drug safety, and clinical pharmacology. Beyond research, Mr. Siddiqui is deeply committed to student growth and mentoring, playing a significant role in strengthening the academic standards of the college. His contributions continue to make a lasting impact on both classroom teaching and the broader domain of pharmaceutical sciences.
