About Book

Pharmacology–II (BP503T) is a comprehensive textbook developed for undergraduate pharmacy students, strictly aligned with the BP503T syllabus prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India. The book offers detailed coverage of drugs acting on the cardiovascular and renal systems, along with the pharmacological principles underlying antiarrhythmic, antianginal, antihypertensive, and antihyperlipidemic therapies. It opens with core concepts of hemodynamics and cardiac electrophysiology, providing the essential framework for understanding the actions of cardiovascular drugs. The text systematically discusses the pathophysiology and pharmacotherapy of major disorders such as congestive heart failure, hypertension, angina pectoris, cardiac arrhythmias, atherosclerosis, and shock. Drug mechanisms of action, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic applications, and adverse effects are presented in a clear and organized manner, supported by updated classifications and clinically relevant explanations. Each unit is structured into well-sequenced subtopics and enriched with tables, figures, and simplified mechanisms to facilitate quick comprehension and revision.
