About Book

Sports Medicine and Sports Injuries is a comprehensive academic text designed to provide systematic and scientific knowledge in the field of Sports Medicine. With the rapid expansion of competitive sports, fitness activities, and professional athletic participation, the need for structured understanding of injury prevention, management, and classification has become increasingly important. This book addresses that need with clarity, academic depth, and practical relevance. The text begins with foundational concepts of Sports Medicine and progressively explores various categories of sports injuries, including mechanical, thermal, and chemical injuries. Detailed chapters are devoted to soft tissue injuries, hard tissue injuries, and joint injuries, along with clear explanations of injury mechanisms and contributing risk factors. Special emphasis is placed on injury classification based on severity and legal aspects, which are essential for professional practice, documentation, and medico-legal understanding. Written in a systematic, student-friendly manner, the book bridges theoretical concepts with practical application, making it highly suitable for academic programs such as B.P.Ed and M.P.Ed. It also serves as a valuable reference for physical education teachers, coaches, athletic trainers, sports administrators, and sports science professionals. By integrating scientific principles with applied sports practice, this book aims to promote safer participation in sports and foster a preventive, evidence-based approach in Sports Medicine.
