About author : Dr. Kamal Kumar Garg, born in July, 1956, is a former advisor of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Govt of India, New Delhi. He did M.Sc., M.Phil and Ph.D in environment science from JNU, Delhi and immediately afterwards joined MoEFCC in 1984. His main task during the tenure of 32 years in the Ministry was to conduct site inspection of major developmental projects including industries, mines, thermal power plants and infrastructure projects etc from the angle of water and air pollution, hazardous/solid waste management, water conservation/ harvesting, green belt development and all other specific environment issues. He has already got three books and more than eighteen research papers/reports/articles in the discipline of environment to his credit. With this practical background, he has written a book for students, in an easy and simple language, to imbibe in them the significance of crucial & critical issues of environment and the challenges thereof. B. Dr. Devendra Kumar Soni born on June 1964, graduated in Science and Law, post graduated in the Environment science and Doctorate in Environment science. He has been involved in many academic activities related to post graduated and doctoral level study. He has more than 34 years exp in the field of Environment Management and in R&D activities and presently working in apex regulatory agency of the country. He has published more than 25 research paper in national and international reputed journals on different issues/ subject and also presented more than 20 research papers in different workshops, seminars of national and international level. He has published one books and contributed chapters in the books of different subject concerned.
