About Book

Ethics and Universal Human Values is a student-friendly learning resource specially prepared for B.Pharm. students of the 3rd semester (BP303T) in accordance with the PCI-approved B.Pharm New Syllabus 2026 and NEP 2020. The book emphasizes that pharmacy education should extend beyond scientific knowledge and technical competence by developing essential human and professional values such as honesty, integrity, respect, compassion, responsibility, accountability, empathy, cooperation, confidentiality, and patient welfare. It presents these concepts in a simple, practical, and pharmacy-oriented manner, connecting value education with laboratory practice, pharmaceutical research, patient counselling, hospital and community pharmacy, teamwork, pharmaceutical industry, public health, and environmental responsibility. The book is systematically organized into five interconnected units covering Introduction to Value Education, Self-Exploration and Human Aspirations, Harmony in the Human Being, Harmony in the Individual and Society, and Harmony in Society and Nature. It further strengthens learning through examples, practical situations, case studies, flowcharts, revision points, key terminologies, MCQs, and short- and long-answer questions. The overall objective is to help B.Pharm students develop not only professional competence but also the ethical judgement, responsible behaviour, and value-based attitude required to become trustworthy healthcare professionals who contribute positively to patients, society, and nature.
