About author : 1. Dr Deepti M Bijapur The author Dr (Smt) Deepti M. Bijapur obtained the Post-Graduation Degree in Geography from Karnatak University, Dharwad in the year 2007 along with the B. Ed Degree in 2008. Further, the author has cleared Karnataka State Lectureship Test (KSET) in the year 2018 has got eligibility. Dr Deepti M Bijapur pursued the research in Geography and obtained Ph.D Degree in Marketing Geography from the Karnatak University, Dharwad in 2021. Author has an academic interest and accordingly published many research articles in reputed journals and also proved the academic satisfaction by publishing a book entitled Rural Marketing System and Development in the year 2021. Her research interest in not only in the field of Marketing Geography, but also in Settlement studies, Population, Environment and Tourism Geography. Presently, Author is working as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Geography Karnatak University Dharwad, Karnataka, India since 2020. The author is also actively, participated and presented the research papers in the International and National level seminars/conferences so far. 2. The author, Dr. Aravind A. Mulimani (b.1964) has a sound academic credit by securing First Rank and GOLD MEDAL at Post-Graduation in Geography (1989) from Karnatak University Dharwad. Subsequently, author has obtained M. Phil Degree in Resource Geography and awarded the Doctoral Degree in Marketing Geography from Karnatak University, Dharwad in 1992 and 2002 respectively. Presently, author is a Professor and Chairman, Department of Geography, Karnatak University, Dharwad Karnataka State, India and engaging in Teaching and Research for the last 32 years. The author has created interest in the areas of specializations of Resource Geography, Settlement Geography, Marketing Geography, Tourism Geography, Population Studies, Rural and Regional Planning. About book : The regulated markets in India dealing the large quantity of agricultural produces and authorized to the sale-transactions. The regulated marketing committee is to look after all kind of sale-transactions and serve the farming community in particular and marketing machineries in general. The different kind of agricultural produces in India and accordingly the price system is also varies. All kind of agricultural produces are to be transacted in the marketing premises are bound by the regulations/guidelines framed and executed by the committee. Inspite of this, the farmers are facing lot many hurdles for the sale-transactions and the infrastructures facilities to be required for them. Agriculture marketing comprises all the activities involved in the supply of agricultural inputs and outputs including all those operations which are related to the procurement, collecting, grading, storing, food and agro processing, transportation, financing and selling of the agricultural produce. In fact, marketing includes all the aspects of agribusiness excluding the cultivation process. The agricultural marketing system also relates to economic growth of the agricultural sector and ensuring safe and affordable food to consumers, which is directly linked to the food security of the country.
