About author : Dr Vijay Sharma received his B. Pharm degree from Rohilkhand University Bareilly UP, M. Pharm degree (Pharmaceutics) from PRIST University, Tamil Nadu and PhD degree from IFTM University Moradabad, UP. Professor Sharma has worked in his field of Industry, Education and Research of Pharmacy, for over 17 years. Dr Vijay has published Research Papers in reputed National and International Journals as well as participated in several prestigious conferences /workshops/seminars. He guided Ph.D. scholars in research. He is currently working at Pharmacy Academy, IFTM University, Moradabad, UP. Prof. Amit Kumar received his B. Pharm degree from Rohilkhand University Bareilly UP, His M. Pharm degree (Pharmacology) from Vinayaka Mission University Salam, Tamil Nadu and PhD degree from OPJS University Rajasthan, Professor Amit Kumar has worked in his field of Education and Research of Pharmacy, for over 20 Year. Prof. Amit Kumar has published Research Papers in reputed National and International Journals as well as participated in several prestigious conferences /workshops/seminars. he guides PhD scholars in research. He is currently working as Director at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University, Barabanki UP. Mrs Swati Gautam, Assistant Professor, IFTM University, Moradabad is a pharmacist who has obtained her M. Pharm (2020) and B. Pharm (2018) degree in Pharmaceutics from IFTM University, Moradabad. She has three years of teaching experience in Pharmacy. She has published research and review articles in national and international journals as well as actively participated in national and international seminars, conferences and workshops during the course of her remarkable career. She has also published books and chapters in reputed publications. Ms Pooja Singh received his B. Pharm degree from RBMI Group of Institutions, Bareilly UP and her M. About book : The concept of pharmaceutics, as applied in the speciality of Pharmacy, encompasses a broad spectrum of interrelated subject areas. It is generally regarded as the core discipline in Pharmacy, covering the well-defined and articulated stages to which a drug is subjected in its development into dosage forms and delivery to consumers. The book consists of all basic aspects related to pharmaceutics. In the general introduction to pharmaceutics, the book contains the history of pharmacy, the development of pharmacy, different dosage forms, prescriptions, how to calculate the dose, and factors affecting doses. The book covers various concepts of weighing and measuring, pharmaceutical calculation, pharmaceutical powders or mixtures, and liquid dosage forms intended for internal and external use. It also explains how to prepare monophasic and biphasic liquid formulations and suppositories. Additionally, it helps in understanding the different excipients used in semisolid formulations, the mechanisms associated with them, influencing factors for drug penetration, and the development of different semisolid dosage forms.
